Sunglasses a Required for any time of the year. They protect your eyes from UV light and reduce the chances of conditions like cataracts and mucosal degeneration. It also lowers the ester when it is bright outside and removes glare while driving. (Glare is a problem when driving in the snow!) Plus, they help protect your eyes from wind, rain or flying debris.
Any inexpensive pair of UV glasses will work – whether you’re in a drugstore or a TJ. You can find the right options at discount stores like Maxx or Ross – but some of us in the gear team have tried dozens of pairs of sunglasses while we ran, walked, swam, walked, sunbathed, and ran. This is our favorite.
Updated July 2021: We’ve tested a ton of new glasses and added new ones for 2021.
